Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers have been given good news in their desire to sign Reece Burke.

The Times reports new boss Manuel Pellegrini has earmarked Burke as one of the players he is willing to sell early into his reign.

The paper reports West Ham are open to offers for Burke, as one of five players they are keen to cash in on.

The Mirror claimed last week that Rangers are keen to bring Burke to Ibrox.

Burke spent last season on loan at Bolton and he is said to be high on Gerrard’s list.

Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The report last week said West Ham were debating whether to loan him out or sell him, and it appears they are certainly open to the latter with the new report they are open to offers.

Rangers have made it clear they intend to strengthen in central defence, with Martin Skrtel, Kyle Bartley and Connor Goldson all linked within the last week.

The news on Burke potentially puts him back towards the forefront of Rangers’ plans, but The Mirror did report last week that Aston Villa and Leeds United are also monitoring the 21-year-old.
