Bernard is available on a free and West Ham are said to have begun negotiations.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has claimed on his website that West Ham United have opened talks to sign Shakhtar Donetsk sensation Bernard on a free transfer.
The report claims that talks are continuing for Lazio star Felipe Anderson, with the Hammers and the Serie A outfit yet to agree on a fee. It is believed, though, that West Ham are getting nearer the £40m valuation of Anderson.
But it is believed that Anderson could be joined by a fellow countryman at the London Stadium, in the form of fleet-footed maestro Bernard. The technician is available on a free transfer, after his contract expired in Ukraine.

The 25-year-old is renowned as one of the best attacking midfielders in the world yet to try his luck in Europe’s biggest leagues, after joining Shakhtar from boyhood club Atletico Mineiro.
A 15-time Brazil international, Bernard stands at just 5ft 4in but boasts a wonderful ability on the ball that allows him to create, score and dazzle his own fans and opponents.

Signing Bernard would be a hugely expensive transfer, but seeing as his contract has expired, the Hammers can land the pocket-sized genius for nothing – and talks are said to have started off to a flyer.
Manuel Pellegrini is also supposedly a fan of Bernard after trying to sign him during his days in the Chinese Super League with Hebei China Fortune. Hammers fans could be set to see both Anderson and Bernard in attack.
