West Ham United are interested in making Paulo Fonseca their new manager as they consider replacements for David Moyes.
That is according to a new report from The Guardian, who claim that Fonseca is now a key target for West Ham this summer.
It’s stated that West Ham are preparing to make a managerial change even if they haven’t completely settled on sacking David Moyes.
The Scot has been through a difficult season as West Ham have failed to kick on from reaching the Europa League semi-finals last year.
A parting of the ways seems inevitable and West Ham are looking towards Lille boss Fonseca.
The report notes that Fonseca almost became West Ham boss in 2018 before the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini.
David Sullivan is now ready to consider Fonseca once again and he is viewed as a frontrunner alongside Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers.

Fonseca has been doing a fine job in charge of Lille this season.
Lille finished 10th last season but Fonseca has them in fifth this term; only three Ligue 1 sides have scored more goals than Lille this season.
Fonseca has been rebuilding his reputation in France having left Roma in 2021 and a Premier League move has been rumoured for a long time now.
Tottenham Hotspur fancied landing the Portuguese boss in 2021 and Fonseca told The Telegraph that a deal was agreed and he was already planning pre-season.
Fabio Paratici came in and scrapped that move, instead going for Nuno Espirito Santo.
Fonseca then thought he was getting the Newcastle United job last year according to Guillem Balague, but that role went to Eddie Howe instead.
There have been links to Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace… pretty much any Premier League job going at this point.
Hailed as ‘extraordinary’ by Thierry Henry earlier this season, Fonseca may be just what West Ham want and they can finally give him that elusive move to England.
