West Ham United are now being linked with a move for Hwang Hee-chan by Kicker.

West Ham are on the hunt for a new forward, and Hee-Chan is now right at the top of their list, reports in Germany suggest.

Hee-chan seriously impressed during his spell with Red Bull Salzburg, but a move to RB Leipzig hasn’t worked out for him.

The South Korean, who Erling Haaland called ‘brilliant’ (Bundesliga website) when they were at Salzburg together, has failed to force his way into Leipzig’s team.

But West Ham reportedly feel that he could boost their striking options following Sebastien Haller’s departure.

Hee-chan has drawn comparisons with Roberto Firmino (Bundesliga website), due to his hard working style.

And that could make him a good fit for David Moyes’s side, as the Scot has always wanted a striker who can harry defenders and run into the channels.

Haller’s lack of energy was one of his main problems at West Ham, as he just didn’t fit Moyes’s system.

Hee-chan, therefore, could be a much better fit at the London Stadium – although his lack of goals in Germany does remain a concern.
