According to the Express, West Ham are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
The 3-cap France international has spent the current campaign on loan at Fulham, where he’s impressed at Craven Cottage.
In bad news for West Ham, Fulham actually have an option to buy the 28-year-old as a result of a clause in his loan deal.
However, Areola wants to wait and see if Fulham get relegated before deciding to stay in west London.
PSG value the former Real Madrid glovesman at £15 million.
West Ham already have an outstanding No.1 in Łukasz Fabiański.
However, the Pole is 36, and the Express believe David Moyes is looking for a more long-term option in between the sticks.
If the Irons pull this off, it would be an excellent signing.
Areola has impressed in England’s top-flight this season, making 32 Premier League appearances.
In those outings, the Paris-born shot-stopper has kept nine clean sheets, which is the same amount kept by Fabiański.
Areola clearly has some pedigree about him.
The £75,000-a-week man is a World Cup winner, and has played Champions League football for both Real Madrid and PSG.
Those two European giants don’t just choose anyone to guard the goal for them.
