West Ham United are now out of the running to sign Theo Walcott from Everton, the Daily Mirror claim.
West Ham have been linked with the former England international forward, who seems to have fallen out of favour, but they are no longer counted as a potential destination for him.
The Mirror do not give any reasons why West Ham have dropped out of the race, but they do say that the 31-year-old, who was once labelled as an ‘absolutely deadly’ finisher by Arsene Wenger (ESPN), won’t be joining David Moyes’s side.
Walcott could, however, return to Southampton, as the south coast club are said to remain keen.
In truth, missing out on Walcott is unlikely to be considered too much of a blow to West Ham.
The Hammers already have some impressive attacking options, and it is a long time since Walcott showed his best form now.

The former Arsenal man seems to have lost a yard of pace, and he has quickly fallen down the pecking order at Goodison Park since Carlo Ancelotti arrived.
Walcott would have given West Ham more depth to choose from in attack, but with the likes of Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen in such fine form, he wasn’t a signing which would have really enhanced the quality of Moyes’s starting line-up.
