According to Torino Granata, West Ham now have the best chance of signing Andrea Belotti following José Mourinho’s move to Roma.

The Italian news outlet claims that Maurizio Sarri was expected to join Roma, and take Belotti with him as his No.9.

However, Mourinho has now been hired, and the 32-cap Italy international is not near the top of his shopping list.

As a result, West Ham are now the frontrunners to sign Belotti.

Torino Granata state that David Moyes wants a new striker to prepare for European football next season.

The report also claims that Tammy Abraham is the alternative to Belotti.

So, what type of player is the Torino No.9?

Well, Sky Sports compared him to Jamie Vardy when writing a feature on the Italian marksman.

Towards the end of the article, they wrote that Belotti gives off ‘echoes’ of the Leicester No.9.

In 32 appearances this season, the 27-year-old has scored 12 goals while also recording seven assists for Torino.

Belotti is somewhat of an icon at Torino.

He has scored 104 goals in 224 appearances for the Serie A side, a brilliant record to say the least.

If West Ham can get their hands on Belotti, it would be one of the biggest coups of the summer.
