According to The Sun, Manchester United are open to giving Jesse Lingard another chance after his loan spell at West Ham United ends.
Lingard, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, joined West Ham on loan from Premier League rivals United in the January transfer window.
The report in the British tabloid has claimed that United are open to the England international returning to Old Trafford and then signing a contract extension.
It has been claimed that West Ham will try to sign Lingard on a permanent contract and are ready to pay between £15 million and £20 million for him.
West Ham United or Manchester United?
Lingard has a contract with United, and there is nothing much that West Ham can do if the Red Devils have plans for him going forward.
However, it could come down to the England international’s desire and what he wants to do.
Lingard struggled to play for United in the first half of the season, but the 28-year-old is a key figure at West Ham now and has also earned a recall to the England squad.

According to WhoScored, the 28-year-old has scored five goals and provided two assists in seven Premier League games for the Hammers.
Some West Ham fans have given their take on the report on Twitter, as shown below.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport has claimed that Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey is open to a move to West Ham in the summer of 2021.
