According to AS, West Ham United are keen on signing Espanyol winger Adri Embarba this summer.

It’s claimed that four Premier League clubs want to sign Embarba, with Wolverhampton Wanderers keen alongside promoted duo Norwich City and Watford.

They would all be able to give Embarba a big pay rise, as he isn’t even in the top 10 earners at Espanyol despite his importance.

This past season, Embarba racked up nine goals and 14 assists to help Espanyol win promotion back to La Liga.

Embarba’s ‘desire’ is to sign a new contract with Espanyol, but with Premier League interest and the likes of Levante and Real Betis wanting him, Espanyol risk losing their star man.

Embarba is already 29 though, meaning Premier League sides may not put huge money on the table for a player with limited resale value.

Capable of playing on either flank or as a striker, Embarba is a real threat in the final third, and West Ham are ultimately looking for two attacking players.

Jesse Lingard’s loan spell is over whilst Sebastien Haller hasn’t been replaced, so Embarba could be a target to give David Moyes the attacking firepower he needs next season.
