West Ham United starlet Declan Rice has rejected a new contract offer at the London Stadium, but the Hammers are not planning to budge.

Rice’s contract situation appears to be one of the most pressing concerns at the London Stadium with his current £3,000-a-week deal set to run out at the end of next season.
But it appears that there is plenty of work to do before the youngster puts pen to paper. The Daily Mail reports that West Ham have most recently offered Rice £12,000-a-week, but the Republic of Ireland international’s advisers are so disappointed with the offer that they are not prepared to open discussions until an improved offer is made.
But the Mail adds that the Hammers currently have no plans to make a better bid, which will undoubtedly leave plenty of supporters feeling extremely worried about what the future holds for their brightest prospect.

Rice has shown with his last two performances that he is an exceptional talent – and those displays have come in a position that is not considered his best, as he played in holding midfield rather than at centre-back.
Given his current importance to the side, Rice surely has every right to ask for significantly better terms than the ones that are being offered. And with the Mail alluding to potential interest coming from elsewhere, West Ham are taking a massive risk with their stance.
