West Ham United have not been put off by the potential £25 million transfer fee required to bring Ukraine’s Euro 2020 ace Roman Yaremchuk to the Premier League, as reported by Calciomercato.
If the Hammers were watching the 6ft 3ins centre-forward during Sunday’s Group C clash at the Johan Cruyff Arena – and we can only assume they were – it is hard to imagine that they would not have been impressed by a man who caused Frank de Boer’s backline no end of problems.
Not only did Yaremchuk give Ukraine hope of a famous comeback – he levelled the scoring with a bullet header moments before Denzel Dumfries’ winner – he also led the line with the sort of intelligence and intuition that will have sent scouts Europe-wide into a frenzy.
Yaremchuk combined brilliantly to set up Andriy Yarmolenko for a first-half chance, backheeling the ball into the winger’s path before Patrick van Aanholt’s last-gasp intervention.

The Express reported this week that David Moyes’ West Ham had joined Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal in the race for a man who scored a career-best 23 goals for KAA Gent last season.
Calciomercato backs up those claims, adding that a price-tag in the region of £25 million is unlikely to have the Hammers running for the hills.
West Ham’s interest is reported to be ‘concrete’, with CM suggesting that Arsenal have now moved on to alternative options.
