West Ham United will have to make Tammy Abraham their second most expensive player ever if they are to sign him, the Telegraph suggest.

West Ham are interested in the Chelsea striker, who Thomas Tuchel is apparently willing to allow to leave.

However, the Hammers will have to find £40 million if they want to buy the clinical front man.

West Ham have only once before spent more than that sum on one player, with Sebastien Haller coming in for £45 million.

It certainly would be a statement of intent if David Moyes was given such lavish funds to spend on a striker, but whether he will be remains to be seen.

Abraham could be an exciting addition to West Ham’s squad, though.

The Hammers’ need for a front man has been obvious since Haller departed, as beyond Michail Antonio they are desperately short of options.

Few potential targets look more appealing than Abraham, who has fallen out of favour at Chelsea, but has previously proven himself to be a very capable Premier League forward and would surely guarantee goals if he was to move to the London Stadium.
