West Ham United are reportedly keen on Lazio winger Felipe Anderson.
According to Italian newsapper Il Messaggero, West Ham United will today send a delegation to Rome in an attempt to secure a deal for Lazio winger Felipe Anderson.
The Hammers snapped up their first summer signing last week in Fulham defender Ryan Fredericks, whilst The Mirror claim that a deal for Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is close.
Business appears to be picking up in East London, and now new manager Manuel Pellegrini is looking to land a player he first targeted back at Manchester City in 2015.
Recent reports have linked West Ham with a blockbuster deal for Lazio star Felipe Anderson, and Il Messaggero claim that the Hammers have representatives in Italy today as they attempt to negotiate a deal.
Anderson, 25, has emerged as a top target for West Ham, and it’s stated that the Hammers are increasing their offer from €30million (£26.5million) to around €35million (£31million).
However, Lazio’s asking price is €45million (£40million), and it remains to be seen whether the Hammers can bridge that gap and secure a deal for the Brazillian ace.
Anderson hit eight goals and eight assists for Lazio this past season, and has largely impressed for Lazio since signing from Santos in 2013, though interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs appears to have dissipated.
Football.London report that Anderson wants a huge wage increase from £48,000-a-week to £80,000-a-week in order to sign for West Ham, and this now promises to be an expensive pursuit for the Hammers.
