West Ham United are pursuing a deal for Genoa’s Krzysztof Piatek.

According to SportItalia’s Alfredo Pedulla, West Ham United have agreed to meet Genoa’s €40million (£35million) asking price for striker Krzysztof Piatek.
The Hammers were already expected to be in the market for a new striker this month, but that need has been heightened in recent days.
Both Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic have been linked with exits this month, meaning Manuel Pellegrini may be forced to bring in a couple of strikers.
SportItalia’s Alfredo Pedulla now claims that West Ham have returned with a bid of £35million for Genoa’s Piatek, having already failed with an offer of €35million (£31million) this week.
Genoa would ideally like some bonus clauses on top of that fee, but West Ham are close to agreeing a deal…at least they would be if AC Milan weren’t in the picture.
It’s claimed that Genoa owner Enrico Preziosi promised priority to Milan in the Piatek race, with the San Siro side looking at the Polish international as a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain.

That means West Ham are waiting around to find out what happens with Milan’s pursuit of Piatek, at least if the new reports in Italy are to be believed.
Piatek, 23, has been in red-hot form for Genoa since signing from Cracovia over the summer, smashing 19 goals in 21 games, and he could become a blockbuster replacement for Arnautovic if West Ham get their way.
