West Ham United have made a bid for Burnley defender James Tarkowski, according to The Times.
It has been reported that West Ham’s offer for the 27-year-old defender is £22 million.
The report has added that Burnley value the England international at £50 million, with Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester City having wanted to sign him in the January transfer window.
Successful Burnley spell
Tarkowski has been on the books of Burnley since 2016 and has established himself as an important player for the Clarets.
The defender has progressed a lot over the years and has also earned two England caps in his career so far.
According to WhoScored, Tarkowski scored two goals and provided two assists in 38 Premier League matches for the Clarets last season.
During the 2018-19 campaign, the defender scored three goals and provided one assist in 35 league games for Burnley, according to WhoScored.
Good signing for West Ham United?
West Ham were not great defensively last season, and manager David Moyes could do with a very good and established centre-back in his squad for next season and beyond.
Tarkowski would be a good signing for West Ham and would make an immediate impact at the London Stadium.
