According to an exclusive report from Own Goal Nigeria, West Ham United have made a fresh bid of £9million for Eupen player Henry Onyekuru.

The Hammers are said to have opened the bidding at £7million – an offer the Belgian club quickly rebuffed – and while it is being claimed Eupen do not think West Ham are a glamorous enough club for the 20-year-old, manager Slaven Bilic is not giving up just yet.

Onyekuru found the net 24 times in 41 matches last season and he would be a smart investment for a West Ham side in need of more fire-power in time for the upcoming campaign.

The problem seems to be that Eupen realise they have a gem on their hands and they are not going to accept the first offer that comes their way, especially in an otherwise inflated transfer market.

West Ham will not want to go too high for a player unproven in English football, but if they can get a deal done for under £10million it could go down as one hell of a bargain in the years to come.

While West Ham will not want t put all their faith in a 20-year-old striker he, along with another more experienced forward, could ensure their struggles in front of goal are a thing of the past.

Own Goal Nigeria claim Anderlecht are also keen on the player and that they believe they can seal a deal if an English club fail to match Eupen’s asking price…whatever that may be.
