West Ham United are reportedly lining up a January move for Watford striker Troy Deeney.
According to The Mirror, West Ham United are interested in pursuing a January deal for Watford striker Troy Deeney as they look for a proven goalscorer.
The Hammers went into the summer transfer window knowing that they needed to bring in a top striker, but were frustrated in their efforts to spend big on a centre forward.

Slaven Bilic’s men resorted to signing Jonathan Calleri and Simone Zaza on loan for the season, whilst Andre Ayew isn’t a natural centre forward, and has missed a chunk of the season through injury.
With the January transfer window fast approaching, West Ham fans will be wanting to see a new striker arrive to give West Ham the attacking boost they’re looking for, given that neither Calleri or Zaza have scored this season.

Now, The Mirror report that West Ham have placed Watford striker Troy Deeney on their January wish list, and have made tentative enquiries about his availability after watching him score for Walter Mazzarri’s side against West Ham at the London Stadium earlier this season.
Deeney, 28, hit 13 Premier League goals for Watford last season, and is now on 99 goals in all competitions for the Hornets, with his goalscoring record making him a firm fan favourite at Vicarage Road.

It’s claimed that Deeney is now earning £50,000-a-week after Watford snubbed Leicester’s £25m for their captain and talisman, meaning West Ham may have to dig deep in their pockets to stand a chance of landing Deeney.
Deeney would be a major coup for the Hammers, but whether they can tempt Watford into selling the burly striker so soon after not only rejecting Leicester’s move but also handing him a new deal remains to be seen.
