It has been reported that West Ham and Crystal Palace have made contact with Premier League rivals Everton over signing Walcott on loan in the summer transfer window.
Intermediaries have also spoken to Newcastle and Fulham regarding the ex-Arsenal man, while the 31-year-old’s former club Southampton have also been asked, according to the report.
Everton exit this summer?
Described as an ‘express attacker’ on Everton’s official website – probably due to his pace – Walcott has not really made a massive impact at Everton since he joined from Arsenal in January 2018.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the England international made 17 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
Walcott made 24 starts and one substitute appearance in the league for the Toffees in 2018-19, scoring five goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
With the likes of James Rodriguez, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure having been signed this summer, Walcott is going to find it tough to play regularly.
A loan move away from the Toffees would make sense for Walcott, who still has a lot to offer for another Premier League club, and the likes of West Ham, Newcastle and Southampton would be good destinations for him.
