Yet while a deal for Vladimir Coufal appears to be in doubt, Masopust could be battling his compatriot for a place at the heart of David Moyes’ engine room when 2020/21 kicks off.

With seven goals and five assists to his name, the 27-year-old fired Slavia Prague to yet another Czech league title while playing a key role as the national team consigned England to their first qualification defeat in a decade back in October.
