According to talkSPORT, West Ham United proposed a bizarre deal for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori on deadline day.
It’s claimed that West Ham offered to pay Chelsea £50,000 for every time Tomori didn’t play for the Hammers.
West Ham were paying a huge loan fee as well as the promise of those additional payments, and the deal appeared to be close with that strange offer on the table.
However, Tomori turned down the move just 10 minutes before the transfer window closed, leaving West Ham without a defensive addition.
The 22-year-old will now attempt to claw back a spot in Chelsea’s first team, but that won’t be easy given their defensive options.
Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger are all at Frank Lampard’s disposal, meaning it’s hard to see Tomori starting.

West Ham’s offer suggested that they saw Tomori as a key player for David Moyes and a regular starter, but that still wasn’t enough for him to make the move.
The Hammers will now have to look into the EFL for a new centre back before next Friday’s domestic deadline, which may be difficult.
