West Ham United would consider a move for Graham Potter if they do decide to move on from David Moyes in the near future.

The Hammers picked up a vital win over Southampton on Sunday but came crashing back down to earth on Wednesday.

Newcastle United absolutely smashed West Ham 5-1, leading to chants about Moyes getting sacked in the morning.

It seems more likely that West Ham will keep Moyes in place until the summer but replacements are surely being identified.

One attractive candidate just became available as Chelsea sacked Graham Potter on Sunday.

The Daily Telegraph now report that Potter is likely to be a candidate for the West Ham job this summer.

Potter doesn’t seem all that interested in taking a job right now and is likely to wait until the end of the season.

Moyes’ time at West Ham does appear to be coming to an end and a manager like Potter could fall right into West Ham’s lap.

West Ham should go all out for Graham Potter

Potter never really seemed like a fit for Chelsea.

The Blues may want to be more patient under Todd Boehly but fans have grown to expect instant success over the last 20 years.

Potter was outstanding as Brighton boss where he could take a more patient approach and not have to juggle huge names all vying for playing time.

Bringing in a raft of expensive signings wasn’t really Potter’s style either, making his move to Chelsea seem ill-suited.

Potter will be targeted by a number of Premier League clubs this summer and West Ham will surely be one of them.

The Hammers have fared well under Moyes but may now need to take a next step with a younger, more progressive manager who can develop players.

Potter proved himself in that kind of role at Brighton and West Ham probably thought they would have no chance of landing him from the Seagulls.

Now on the market and needing to rebuild his reputation, Potter should be one of the top candidates for West Ham.
