West Ham United’s deal for Said Benrahma ‘appears to be off’ – leaving a window open for Crystal Palace to pounce, according to The Daily Mirror.
The newspaper claims that despite agreeing a fee worth £25 million with Brentford and scheduling a medical for the winger on Tuesday, West Ham are now ‘poised to focus all their energies’ on the Bournemouth striker Josh King.
It adds that the Hammers are feeling ‘relaxed’ about the situation, with their manager, David Moyes, ‘understood to be more keen’ on King – in whom Crystal Palace have also been credited with an interest – than Benrahma.
It is said that West Ham have already had a £13 million offer rejected by Bournemouth, who want £18m.

Whether Palace will now swoop for Benrahma remains to be seen.
But the Algerian will surely hope so, with The Daily Mirror reporting that he has ‘fallen out with Brentford over what are understood to be broken promises’ and met with the Bees’ director of football Phil Giles at the weekend to clarify his stance.
Benrahma has yet to appear at Premier League level, where King has scored or assisted 63 goals in 161 games.
