According to Transfer20, West Ham and Roma are interested in signing Hoffenheim striker Munas Dabbur.
The Israel international scored in the German club’s recent 4-1 win over Bayern Munich, his first Bundesliga goal of the campaign.
Transfer20 state that David Moyes wants Dabbur to compliment Michail Antonio and Sebastien Haller to help the Hammers progress in the Premier League.
However, it is mentioned in the report that Hoffenheim – an economically strong club – do not want to sell, and view the 28-year-old as a valuable squad member.
The German side want to reach the Champions League qualification spots, and view the Nazareth-born striker as vital to achieving that.
Funnily enough, a report from the Sunday Mirror back in January (5/1; page 63) revealed that Moyes also wanted Dabbur back then.
What kind of player is the ex-RB Salzburg frontman, you might ask?
Well, the Bundesliga’s official website wrote that the Israeli is similar to Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, who also once represented Hoffenheim.
They wrote: ‘Like Firmino, Dabbur allies the the touch and grace of a much smaller man with a pair of nifty – but not for nifty’s sake – feet.
‘His somewhat under-appreciated talents could also work in his favour in the Bundesliga, where Firmino went from mercurial to mega in under five years.’
Should the Hoffenheim attacker arrive at the London Stadium, he would be the Hammers’ first signing of the transfer window.
The only business done by the Irons so far has been to turn Tomas Soucek’s loan deal into a permanent switch, costing them £19.1 million.
