West Ham United are clearly keen to bolster their midfield options this month, with two more names in the frame.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, both Mohamed Elneny and Didier Ndong also find themselves on the list of midfield targets West Ham boss David Moyes has put together this month.

The Mail reports that the Hammers are keen on Francis Coquelin, while Jonjo Shelvey, Ki Sung Yueng and Leander Dendoncker are also players who are catching the eye as the Irons look to ensure that they keep themselves away from trouble in the Premier League during the second-half of the campaign.

However, the Mail adds that Moyes fears that Coquelin would prefer to join Valencia, who are also in the running for his signature, and that has perhaps prompted the Hammers boss to put together an even more extensive list.

Joining Coquelin on the list is his Arsenal teammate and rival Elneny, while Sunderland ace Ndong is also a player who is catching the eye, according to the Mail, despite the Black Cats’ position at the bottom of the Championship.

It may not surprise West Ham fans that Ndong is on their radar, with the Independent reporting back in August that the Gabon international was a target.

With neither Elneny or Ndong exactly capturing the imagination for their respective sides this season – though the former has impressed during the Gunners’ Europa League campaign – both men would probably need to prove themselves to the West Ham fans if they did arrive at the London Stadium this month, but they arguably have the potential to make a positive impact.
