According to the Daily Star, Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is on West Ham United’s wish list for this summer.
West Ham looked into signing Nketiah in January according to the London Evening Standard, but no deal was done.
The Hammers didn’t sign a striker at all despite Sebastien Haller’s exit, and it must be a priority for David Moyes this summer.
Nketiah is one name still on the radar, joining Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham and Brentford hitman Ivan Toney on the list.
Nketiah, 21, has only started three Premier League games this season, but has managed five goals across all competitions.
A lack of first-team action may just tempt Nketiah into leaving, and he has just one year left on his Arsenal contract.
The Gunners could sell this summer before he walks away in 2022, and West Ham are positioning themselves as a destination for the striker.
Staying in London should be appealing to Nketiah, whilst his pace could fit perfectly into David Moyes’ style on the break.
MIkel Arteta only called Nketiah ‘extraordinary’ last year, but his future may now lie away from the Emirates Stadium if West Ham get their way.
