West Ham United have reportedly joined the race to sign Monaco forward Keita Balde ahead of the January transfer window.

Inter paid £4.4 million to take the 23-year-old on loan in the summer, and Tuttomercatoweb reports that the Nerazzurri could make the deal permanent in the summer for a further £26.5 million.
The report adds however, that Keita could return to the Principality in January, and Wolves and West Ham are monitoring his situation.
It is not clear whether the Hammers will look at a permanent move for Keita or an agreement that is similar to the one currently in place with Inter, where Manuel Pellegrini’s men could make the deal permanent further down the line.

The Irons have a cluster of exciting attacking players, but Keita would certainly improve their ranks further, particularly if he could recapture the form that he showed during his time with Lazio and in his first year with Monaco.
It remains to be seen what is decided with his situation at San Siro. But perhaps this latest report hints that West Ham will be keeping a close eye on developments over the coming months.
