David Moyes reportedly has concerns over West Ham United’s interest in Fabian Ruiz.
According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United have considered Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz – but manager David Moyes has concerns over his suitability for the Premier League.
With just one defeat in the last nine Premier League games, West Ham have enjoyed a real upturn under Moyes, but the Scot will be hoping for some good news on the transfer front.
The Hammers have yet to make a new addition during this month’s transfer window, and a new midfielder has been the priority this month as Moyes searches for more quality in the middle of the park.
Now, the Daily Mail report that West Ham have an interest in signing Real Betis star Fabian Ruiz, Moyes is understood to have some concerns about the Spanaird.
It’s claimed that, whilst Ruiz has potential, Moyes isn’t sure whether he could make an instant impact in the Premier League at this stage in his development, meaning West Ham may look elsewhere.
Ruiz, 21, was born in Andalusia and has come up through the ranks with Real Betis, and had mostly been a bit-part player before assuming a much more prominent role under Quique Setien this season.
The 6ft 2in midfielder has notched two goals and three assists in 16 La Liga games this season, impressing with his playmaking ability as he looks to establish himself as the next great Spanish midfield prospect.
Ruiz should be on West Ham’s radar, but with Moyes looking to steady the ship at the London Stadium, he may well be wise to target somebody with more Premier League experience instead.
