West Ham United are struggling, both in the Premier League as well as in the transfer market. The Hammers have lost their first two games and their chances of bringing in new players look bleak.
Their owner, David Sullivan, spoke to TalkSport yesterday where he hinted that his side could end the window with no new signings. He claimed that they have ‘a number of bids in for a number of players’, one of which is reportedly for James Tarkowski.
West Ham have had three offers rejected for the Burnley man; the latest of which was an offer £31 million (Sky Sports). The Clarets are standing firm, which might force the Hammers to look elsewhere to strengthen their defence.
David Moyes has a player in mind if a latest report is to be believed. The Daily Mail claim that West Ham are interested in signing Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea this summer.
The German international has fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of Thiago Silva from PSG. The Hammers would like to bring him in, but they are hesitant to make a move for one reason.

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Hammers star Declan Rice. The Englishman is one of West Ham’s most important players, and supporters will be outraged if they decide to sell him.
West Ham are wary that any bid for Rudiger will give Chelsea an opportunity to draw Moyes’ men into negotiations for Rice. That could put the Hammers in a very difficult position, especially if their star midfielder tries to force a move too.
Rudiger would be an impressive signing for West Ham if they can lure him in. However, if that move means they will have to part ways with Rice, it is a deal that is not worth doing at the moment.
