West Ham United are allegedly interested in bringing the forward to the London Stadium this summer.
According to a report from Wednesday’s print edition of Sport Bild (31/05/2017) and later posted online by German website Weser Kurier, West Ham United are among the clubs interested in signing Werder Bremen’s Max Kruse this summer.
The 29-year-old only arrived at the club last summer but he has enjoyed an impressive campaign, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists in just 23 appearances.
His figures would no doubt have been better were it not for an untimely ligament injury upon his return to the club where he started his career as a youth player.
Given his impact after his return to Bremen it remains to be seen what will happen this summer, although with an alleged promise between the club and the player that he will be allowed to leave if an offer of £10.4million arrives, West Ham could nab themselves something of a bargain.
Kruse may be approaching his thirtieth birthday yet he proved this season that he still has plenty to offer in front of goal and he would definitely be an upgrade on the level of striker West Ham signed last summer – namely Jonathan Calleri and Simone Zaza.
Kruse may feel he has one big move left in him and if he does fancy a shot at the Premier League West Ham could be the perfect place for the 14-capped Germany international.
It is sure to be a busy summer at the London Stadium and West Ham manager Slaven Bilic will know that signing a proven goal-scorer for just over £10million could be a deal too good to refuse.
