West Ham United are reportedly in talks with Lazio over a stunning move for Felipe Anderson.

The Hammers have wasted little time getting stuck into the transfer market following Manuel Pellegrini’s appointment as manager. Ryan Fredericks is set to arrive when his Fulham contract expires, and it appears that the Irons are working on their second deal of the window.

Sky Sports reports that the Hammers have now begun negotiations with the Serie A side about a potential transfer for Anderson, and there is hope that a deal will done despite the 25-year-old attracting attention from elsewhere.
One stumbling block to any potential looks set to be the transfer fee however, with Sky Sports adding that Lazio’s £44 million valuation is much higher than West Ham are currently willing to pay for the attacking midfielder.

Anderson’s form this past season suggests that he could become a fantastic signing for the Irons if the two clubs are able to reach an agreement over a fee. He provided seven assists and scored four times in 21 top flight appearances for the Biancocelesti, while his overall record for the club stands at 34 goals and 42 assists.
And at 25, there is the potential for Anderson to perhaps get significantly better still. It could be a masterstroke of a signing from the Hammers, and some would argue that they should have no qualms about emphatically smashing the club transfer record to make it happen.
