West Ham United are expected to be busy during this month’s transfer window.
The Guardian are reporting this morning that the Hammers are currently in discussions with Juventus over a possible move for left-back Patrice Evra.
West Ham have endured a tricky start to their Premier League campaign this season, with many fans and pundits blaming their poor run of form on the strange signings made by Slaven Bilic in the summer.
Patrice Evra of Juventus
The Croatian will obviously be trying to rectify that this month, and the Hammers have once again been linked with a whole host of star names.
But the Guardian report that despite West Ham being deep in discussions with Juve, the player’s heart is still set on a return to Old Trafford to play for his former club Manchester United.
The 35-year-old moved to the Serie A champions in the summer of 2014, and has gone on to make 82 appearances for the Bianconeri.
France’s Patrice Evra
Aaron Cresswell is the Hammers’ current first-choice left-back, with Arthur Masuaku behind him in the pecking order, so the signing of another left sided defender would seem to be a fairly pointless addition.
And there are certainly other areas of the West Ham squad, other than left-back, which need addressing, including the forward department and central defence.
