It has been reported that Norwich – who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League – have made a bid of £3 million plus a further £2 million in add-ons for the forward.
The report has claimed that the former Preston North End forward earns £35,000 per week as salary and has interest from other clubs in the Championship.
It has been further added that West Ham and Norwich remain in talks over the exit of Hugill from the London Stadium.
West Ham United exit
Hugill joined West Ham from Preston in January 2018 to add more firepower to the Hammers’ frontline in order to prevent them from getting relegated to the Championship.
In the end, the Hammers did not really need him, and the forward spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Middlesbrough and the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Queens Park Rangers.
It is hard to see the 28-year-old make an impact at West Ham next season, and a move to Norwich makes sense, as the Canaries could do with a player who knows the Championship well and has scored goals at that level.
According to WhoScored, Hugill scored six goals and provided two assists in the Championship for Middlesbrough in 2018-19, and scored 13 goals and provided one assist in the league for QPR in 2019-20.
