According to Sky Sports, West Ham are in talks with RB Leipzig over the signing of Hwang-hee Chan.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Jim White confirmed that the Hammers are in discussions with the Bundesliga outfit over signing the 32-cap South Korea international.

White says that the board, consisting of David Gold, David Sullivan and Karren Brady, have given the green light to this deal.

It is now up to David Moyes to decide if he wants the 25-year-old, who RB Leipzig signed from RB Salzburg for €15 million (£13.3 million).

White adds that the Hammers have made Said Benrahma’s loan move from Brentford into a permanent deal, paying £20 million plus add-ons for the Algerian.

Talks are also continuing in regards to signing Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United.

However, let’s focus on the South Korea international – what type of player is he?

Well, according to the Bundesliga’s official website, RB Leipzig’s No.11 plays a bit like Liverpool’s No.9 Roberto Firmino.

The Bundesliga highlight Chan’s quality with both feet and upper body strength as comparable traits to the Brazil international.

Elsewhere, former RB Salzburg Head Coach Peter Zeidler had some glowing praise for the Gangwon-born attacker.

The Bundesliga’s official website quote Zeidler as saying: “He’s exceptional, has a brutal dynamism. I’ve rarely seen anything like it.”

If Moyes gives this deal the green light, it very much seems as if the Irons would be getting an exciting forward.
