West Ham United are reportedly looking to sign Hull City defender Josh Tymon this summer.
Josh Tymon of Hull City
A report in the Daily Mail has suggested that West Ham are keen to sign Hull City starlet Josh Tymon this summer as the Hammers continue their quest to recruit talented homegrown youngsters.
The Irons have signed the likes of Ashley Fletcher, Sam Byram and Nathan Holland in recent times, and the Mail suggests that the Tigers prospect is the latest teenager to catch their eye.
According to the Mail, West Ham are in pole position to sign Tymon who has done well in the Premier League this season with Marco Silva’s men.
The Mail adds that despite featuring a handful of times for the Tigers this season, the 17-year-old is still on a contract worth £160 a week, so it perhaps would not take too great a fee for a deal to be done unless Hull perhaps manage to negotiate a new deal beforehand.
Of course, Hull staying up this season would surely make it tougher for West Ham to lure Tymon to the London Stadium, as he may feel that given the numbers in each squad, he may stand a better chance of getting more regular first-team football at the KCOM Stadium.

But with Silva’s men three points off safety currently, it would not be a surprise if the Tigers were having to prepare for a season in the Championship, simply due to the fact that all of the teams directly above them have, like Hull, enjoyed upturns in form at some stage over recent weeks.
And if they do go down, they will surely find it extremely difficult trying to hold onto their best players and brightest prospects.
