West Ham United continue to be linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater remains a target for West Ham United – and a £3million loan fee would be required before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The Hammers have added eight new signings this summer, as Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Jack Wilshere, Felipe Anderson, Xande Silva and Andriy Yarmolenko have all arrived.
However, boss Manuel Pellegrini remains keen on more signings before Thursday’s transfer deadline, and another midfielder appears to be a priority after allowing Cheikhou Kouyate to join Crystal Palace.
Now, The Mirror report that West Ham are hoping to see Inter Milan sign Real Madrid’s Luka Modric, sparking a domino effect in which Inter’s Matias Vecino would join Chelsea, and Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater would be free to join West Ham on loan.
Drinkwater, 28, played a key part in Leicester City’s run to the Premier League title in 2015-16, and earned a big-money move to Chelsea last summer – but struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
The midfielder started just five Premier League games last season and has slipped further down the pecking order with Jorginho’s arrival, and it’s claimed that Chelsea are willing to let him leave if their terms are met.

A replacement is seemingly wanted, but Chelsea are seeking a £3million fee and his £130,000-a-week wages paid in full, with West Ham seemingly prepared to pay that.
The three-cap England international would give Pellegrini another option alongside Declan Rice, Jack Wilshere, Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang in midfield, with West Ham looking for signing number nine.
