West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Mikkel Damsgaard from Sampdoria in the January transfer window, according to ClubDoria.

It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham could make a bid at any moment for Damsgaard.

The report has added that there has been a meeting with West Ham regarding the transfer of the 20-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as a forward.

Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus are also reported to be monitoring the young Denmark international.

Promising young talent

Damsgaard has been on the books of Sampdoria since the summer of 2020 and has established himself as an important player in the Italian club’s team.

The Denmark international has played as a left forward, attacking midfielder and upfront so far this season.

According to WhoScored, the 20-year-old has made 10 starts and eight substitute appearances in Serie A for Sampdoria this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the process.

It remains to be seen if Sampdoria would be open to selling the youngster in the middle of the season.
