According to The Telegraph, West Ham United are interested in signing Copenhagen forward Jonas Wind.

It’s claimed that West Ham have a long-standing interest in signing Wind, but they’re unlikely to strike a deal for him in the next week.

A January deal doesn’t seem possible for West Ham, but don’t be surprised to see them look towards Wind in the summer window.

Who is Jonas Wind?

Wind, 21, has emerged through the Copenhagen ranks, and has fired seven goals in 13 games for the club this season.

The youngster scored 10 times in 19 games last season, meaning his goalscoring firm in the Copenhagen first team has been hugely impressive.

Wind is a big, physical target man at 6ft 3in tall, but he also has good feet and isn’t slow, which was a problem with Sebastien Haller.

Would West Ham face competition?

Trabzonspor are keen on Wind according to Hurriyet, seemingly viewing him as the long-term successor to Alexander Sorloth.

If West Ham don’t move in the next week, then they would need to be ready with an offer in the summer, when there could be even more interest.

Wind signed a new contract until 2025 back in September 2020, making a deal now seem difficult, but the Hammers are seemingly playing the long game with Wind.
