West Ham United continue to fend off interest in Issa Diop.

According to France Football, Manchester United have made new swap offers to West Ham United involving Marcos Rojo or Matteo Darmian – and both have been rejected.
Just a year since landing him from Toulouse, West Ham are now attempting to keep defender Diop in East London after a superb first season in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old is wanted by United to strengthen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s back line, and West Ham rejected their part-exchange offer last week, involving Phil Jones (The Sun).
It seems that United have been back at the negotiating table, and after United refused to let Anthony Martial go in a deal, they offered up either Marcos Rojo or Matteo Darmian – which West Ham unsurprisingly rejected.
Rojo would have offered West Ham an immediate centre back replacement, but much like Jones, he simply doesn’t add enough to the Hammers side to justify giving up Diop.
Darmian does have versatility to play at left back or right back, but West Ham have Pablo Zabaleta, Ryan Fredericks, Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku, meaning Darmian wouldn’t have a role at West Ham either.

Taking either player makes no sense for West Ham, and whilst Martial is an outlandish demand, taking United’s cast-offs – all approaching 30 – wouldn’t be wise.
West Ham are right to stand firm and not be bullied by United, and fans will be delighted to hear that they have rejected two more part-exchange offers from the Red Devils.
