Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have reportedly received a boost in their quest to bring Manchester City target and West Ham United target Declan Rice to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
According to The Athletic, both Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in signing Declan Rice from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Arsenal had a bid of £75 million plus £15 million in-adds for Rice turned down by West Ham earlier this month.
Treble-winners City made a bid of their own for the England international midfielder last night.
According to The Athletic, West Ham have rejected that bid from the Citizens.

City, who won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season, made a formal offer of an initial £80 million with an extra £10 million in add-ons to West Ham for Rice.
The Hammers have turned it down.
Declan Rice boost for Arsenal
That West Ham United have rejected Manchester City’s bid for Declan Rice is a boost to Arsenal’s chances of signing the midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Now the Gunners need to make a bid of their own and pay the £100 million that West Ham need for Rice.
It is clear that the Hammers will not sell the England international for anything less than £100 million.
So, in our opinion, Arsenal should step up their game and put £100 million on the table and get the deal done.
