According to L’Equipe, West Ham United have already offered €12million (£11million) for Montpellier striker Gaetan Laborde.
It’s claimed that Montpellier may be forced to sell players in January as the global pandemic has really hit their finances.
Striker Laborde is a player already attracting interest ahead of January, with West Ham now offering £11million – four times what they paid to sign him from Bordeaux in 2018.
However, Newcastle United are also thought to be interested, with Steve Bruce keen on adding a new striker next month.
Add in that Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen and Zenit St Petersburg are also keen, and Laborde finds himself a wanted man.
The 26-year-old still has more than two years on his contract, but Montpellier’s financial situation means a deal may be struck.

Laborde has impressed this season with three goals and five assists in 13 games for Montpellier, not only playing as a striker but also out wide.
The Frenchman has impressed in the air and with his link-up play, and could offer support to Michail Antonio or Callum Wilson in the Premier League, with West Ham seemingly leading the race.
