According to the Evening Standard, West Ham have held talks with Heorhiy Bushchan over a potential move to the London Stadium.
What’s the story?
Well, the main focus of the Evening Standard‘s report was the fact that West Ham are closing in on the signing of Alphonse Areola.
West Ham are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a loan deal for the 3-cap France international, who impressed on loan at Fulham last season.
Areola enjoyed his time at Craven Cottage, and is keen to stay in London.
However, should that move fall through for whatever reason, the Irons have spoken to Bushchan about potentially moving to east London.
Who is Heorhiy Bushchan?

You may have seen Bushchan in action not too long ago.
The 27-year-old started all five of Ukraine’s EURO 2020 games, making 15 saves as Andriy Shevchenko’s men reached the quarter-finals.
Ukraine’s EURO 2020 run was, of course, ended by England.
In that quarter-final tie, Bushchan was destroyed by Harry Kane, who scored two goals in Rome to send England into the semi-final.

If West Ham did end up signing the 11-cap Ukraine international, at least he would have a friend in east London – Andriy Yarmolenko.
In our view, we doubt Bushchan will join West Ham unless the Areola deal falls through at the last hurdle.
