According to El Desmarque, West Ham United are competing with Liverpool for Real Betis central defender Aissa Mandi.

The report in the Spanish news outlet has claimed that West Ham have asked about the 28-year-old Algeria international central defender.

The report has also credited Premier League champions Liverpool with interest in the centre-back.

Cope recently claimed that the Reds have made a bid of €10 million (£9 million) for the former Reims star.

Stats

According to WhoScored, Mandi played 29 times in La Liga for Betis this season, while during the 2018-19 campaign, he scored one goal and provided one assist in 35 league games and played six times in the Europa League.

Liverpool or West Ham United?

Mandi is a very good central defender who has played 55 times for the Algeria national football team.

One suspects that a move to the Premier League would be tempting for the Betis star.
Liverpool are likely to have advantage over West Ham in the race for Mandi.

The Reds are the Premier League champions, will compete in the Champions League next season, and will also be able to pay the defender a better salary than the Hammers.
