The Hammers have failed in an approach for Hull City’s winger.

West Ham United have had their approach to sign Hull City winger Robert Snodgrass turned down by the Tigers.

Sky Sports report that West Ham have made a £6 million bid for the Scotland international today but that it was rejected outright by their Premier League rivals.

West Ham are currently fighting hard to keep hold of Dimitri Payet and are looking for replacements for the rebellious Frenchman – who wants a move back to former club Marseille.

The Scotsman has been in fantastic form for Hull this season. Snodgrass has scored 12 goals in 28 appearances for club and country this season and West Ham are hoping to bring that sort of form to the London Stadium.

Snodgrass, according to the Hull Daily Mail rejected a contract renewal at Hull in December and that has alerted teams to his potential availability – including West Ham.

But the Hammers bid of around £6 million is clearly not enough to convince Hull into selling their main influence in surviving relegation from the Premier League.

It will now be interesting to see if West Ham return with an improved offer for Snodgrass – or move on to other potential targets.
