West Ham United have seemingly chosen not to sign Stan Flaherty.

According to The Chronicle, Arsenal midfielder Stan Flaherty spent time with West Ham United before heading up to go on trial with Newcastle United.
Flaherty, 17, has been coming up through the Arsenal ranks in recent times, but seemingly has no long-term future with the Gunners.
Earlier this month, Flaherty turned out for Newcastle in an Under-18 game against Liverpool, having joined the Magpies on trial in an attempt to win a deal.
Now, it’s claimed that Flaherty has already spent time with one Premier League club, as he joined West Ham on trial before heading up to Tyneside.
That West Ham didn’t choose to sign Flaherty after his trial suggests that a deal is off the table for him there, and Newcastle are now his big hope.
Flaherty wasn’t in the Newcastle Under-18 side to face West Ham on Saturday though, which may be a dent to his hopes of winning a deal.

Newcastle want more depth in their youth ranks, so Flaherty appears to have a shot with the Magpies, with Arsenal seemingly happy for him to move on.
The midfielder – who idolises Andres Iniesta – was in Arsenal’s retained list at the end of last summer but hasn’t kicked on, and Newcastle may still hope that he can become a diamond in the rough for them, with news about any deal or extended trial surely not far away.
