Manuel Pellegrini has a serious issue to deal with between the sticks.

The Pole has been an integral part of Pellegrini’s side having played every minute of last season. Fabianski also picked up the Hammers’ player of the season award last term but the Irons will have to do without him until the end of November at the very least.
Fabianski tore his hip muscle while taking a goal kick against Bournemouth on Saturday. Summer signing Roberto was called on by Pellegrini and but he couldn’t shut up shop for the 50-odd minutes that he was in between the sticks against the Cherries.
Roberto has a massive responsibility on his shoulders now to fill the former Arsenal man’s boots. However, the Spaniard isn’t short of any experience having played over 300 senior games so far in his career. He has kept over 100 clean sheets and at 33 years of age, he has seen it all to do a fine job in between the sticks.

An injury or a suspension to Roberto during the time that Fabianski is out of action would be catastrophic for the Irons with their only other option being David Martin who joined the club on a free transfer from Milwall earlier in the summer transfer window.
The 33-year-old has been around the scene since 2003 but has not made a single appearance in the Premier League so far. Having to play him for the first time in a league as difficult as the Premier League would be a huge risk and could cost West Ham crucial points this season.
