West Ham United and Sheffield United may be in the market for Loren Moron.
According to the Daily Star, intermediaries have contacted West Ham United to offer them another chance at signing Real Betis striker Loren Moron.
The striker, who somewhat unsurprisingly goes by ‘Loren’ over ‘Moron’, had been banging in goals for the Betis B team before making the step up in 2018.
Loren, 25, hit seven goals in 15 games in the 2017-18 season, and Betis fended off West Ham to hand him a new contract, but he only scored six goals in 33 La Liga outings last term.
Betis are now prepared to offload Loren for £35million, and West Ham must now consider whether to go back in for the Spaniard given that their bid for Maxi Gomez is faltering.
It’s also noted that Sheffield United are keen on Loren, but it seems hugely unlikely that the Blades would cough up a staggering fee for one player, never mind one with limited top flight experience.
In truth, Loren doesn’t quite seem to be at West Ham’s level. Yes, they need attackers after seeing Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll leave, whilst Javier Hernandez could go, but they should aim higher than Loren.
If he isn’t even regarded as an important player for Betis, then would he really improve West Ham? That seems unlikely, and whilst he may have a role to play, signing him for £35million would be an aberration from the Hammers.
