West Ham United are the Premier League most keen on signing Lille defender Sven Botman – and Tottenham Hotspur are unconvinced.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim that no Premier League club has made ‘serious noises’ about signing Botman this summer.
Atalanta could sign Botman to replace potentially Tottenham-bound Cristian Romero, and he is interested in a move to Serie A.
West Ham are ‘most keen’ on Botman, with Crystal Palace and Newcastle United also keen on the Dutchman.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are classed as ‘admirers’, but aren’t convinced he is ready for such a big move after only one year at Lille.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks with Ajax before an impressive loan spell at Heerenveen earned him the move to Lille as a replacement for now-Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Botman is big and strong at 6ft 4in tall, and has added value in the modern game given that he is a left-footed centre back.
The Dutchman has been branded a ‘machine’ by Jose Fonte, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in the Premier League one day.
Botman may need another year in France or even a season in Italy before the top Premier League clubs make a bid, so this could be West Ham’s small window of opportunity to swoop in before the ‘bigger’ sides move.
