Everton are reportedly joining the race for West Ham United’s William Carvalho.

According to Portuguese newspaper Record (Press Reader), Everton have now joined the race to sign Sporting CP midfielder William Carvalho ahead of the January transfer window.
The Toffees have endured a dismal start to the season, with four defeats in their first seven Premier League games, which has piled the pressure on manager Ronald Koeman after a summer of spending.
Despite already having holding midfielders such as Idrissa Gueye, Morgan Schneiderlin and Muhamed Besic, Everton are now being linked with another central midfielder – and fans may not be too keen on that suggestion.

Portuguese newspaper Record (Press Reader), Everton are hoping to snap up Sporting CP midfielder William Carvalho in January, having watched him twice in action for Sporting and once for Portugal this term.
Carvalho, 25, has come up through the ranks with Sporting, and now has over 150 first-team appearances to his name, impressing not only with his physical dominance, but also his composure on the ball and his passing range.
The report claims that Everton are ready to launch a €35million (£31million) bid to sign Carvalho, and will launch their move despite Sporting viewing their star midfielder as ‘non-transferrable’ in January.

Everton could now swoop in after West Ham’s failed move, after the Hammers attempted to land Carvalho in August, but their bid ended in a bitter fall-out between themselves and Sporting, as reported by The Telegraph.
Yet, Everton don’t lack another central midfielder, they need pace and direction out wide, another striker or even another centre back, and fans may just question whether spending more than £30million on another midfielder is really what Koeman needs.
