West Ham are keen on in form Sassuolo striker.
West Ham face competition from Italian giants Roma in their efforts to sign Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel.
Tuttomercatoweb report the Giallorossi have joined the race for Defrel, although the Hammers are still right at the front of the queue.
Defrel has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season for Serie A side Sassuolo, playing in 24 matches so far.

The 25-year-old striker is in his second season at Sassolo, having signed from Cesena, beginning his career with Parma.
Roma’s interest in his service is heightened as they face losing Mohamed Salah to the African Cup of Nations in January, but West Ham have similar concerns, with Andre Ayew set to feature with Ghana.
The Daily Express reported last week that West Ham were keen on Defrel, but he could cost up to £20 million, and as more clubs register an interest, a potential bidding war could take place in January, and West Ham will need to have alternatives in mind, in case the attacker prefers to stay put in Serie A.
