West Ham United are reportedly involved in the race to sign the French striker, but face competition from two of their Premier League rivals.

Defrel joined the Blucerchiati on loan from Roma in the summer after a disappointing spell with the latter. But he has got his career back on track, with six goals coming in 18 Serie A games this term, including one against his parent club.
It is intriguing that Manuel Pellegrini is reportedly keen to sign Defrel. The Hammers have a lot of quality in the final third, with Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic scoring 15 goals between them, while Javier Hernandez’s return of four goals in 14 Premier League appearances is not a bad record given that he has started just seven times.

Defrel is clearly a talented forward and offers plenty of versatility, but he is also a striker that has reached double figures in a single season on just one occasion during his career.
But with several of Pellegrini’s additions taking to the Premier League extremely well, West Ham fans should perhaps not write off Defrel following suit if the Hammers do end up making a move and winning the race for his signature.
